AWS introduces new data management and analysis tools driven by AI.
Amazon Web Services Inc. has recently launched AWS Entity Resolution, a service that aims to help companies organize their data in a more manageable format. The service was introduced at the AWS Summit New York event, alongside new features for existing products, all geared towards improving data management and processing for businesses.
Entity Resolution is an AI-powered service that deals with the issue of having multiple records describing the same object stored in different systems. For example, an electronics retailer might have one document describing a product's features and another containing its price and availability. The service allows users to link related records together into a single dataset, making it easier to work with the data and potentially reducing storage costs. The process of finding related records and linking them is made simple through a visual interface. Users can automate the record linking procedures using a preconfigured AI model offered by AWS, or they can manually design the workflows.
Amazon Open Search Server less, a managed search engine and analytics service, also received an update. It now features a vector engine, which can store AI models' embedding specialized mathematical structures that make data processing easier for neural networks. The engine can store billions of embedding in AWS' Amazon S3 object store and dynamically adjust resources based on application requirements. Additionally, the vector engine provides a similarity search capability, enabling neural networks to find similar records within the database without the need for complex third-party software tools.
AWS Glue and Amazon Quick Sight were also enhanced with generative AI features. Glue, a data integration service, now integrates with Amazon Code Whisperer, allowing engineers to create data preparation scripts using natural language commands. Quick Sight, a business intelligence service, enables users to turn data into graphs through natural language instructions, and analytics teams can use text prompts for graph customization and data calculations.
In summary, AWS Entity Resolution simplifies the process of linking related records together, while Amazon OpenSearch Server less offers a scalable and efficient solution for storing AI models' embeddings. The generative AI features added to AWS Glue and Amazon Quick Sight automate repetitive tasks, streamlining data analysis and visualization.
