Microsoft's Bing Chat AI Now Accessible to All Users, Featuring Upcoming Plug-ins.
Access GPT-4 powered Bing with just a Microsoft account.
Microsoft has announced that its Bing chatbot, powered by GPT-4, is now available to everyone without the need for a waitlist. To access the open preview version, users simply need to sign in to the new Bing or Edge with their Microsoft account.
Microsoft has also introduced several new features to Bing Chat, including image and video results, persistent chat and history, and plug-in support. The plug-in support will enable developers to extend the chatbot's functionality, with Microsoft already working with partners such as OpenTable and WolframAlpha.
At the upcoming Build conference, Microsoft is expected to share more information on how developers can leverage this plug-in support to build upon the Bing chatbot's capabilities.
This move by Microsoft follows its experiment with removing the waitlist for the Bing Chat feature in March. The chatbot was initially launched in a private preview in February, and Microsoft has been gradually opening it up to more users since then. With the new features and plug-in support, Bing Chat has the potential to compete with other chatbots and search engines in the market.
